The first book of its kind to specifically look at Jewish-Christian women in dialogue together on a range of issues other than the feminist one. The book looks at the impact of the dialogue on these women's spiritual journeys and addresses key questions such as: * What is the distinctive contribution of women's voices to the Christian-Jewish dialogue? * How do women's experiences and story-ing affect the dialogue? How does the women's methodology and epistemology differ from that of men? * How does the dialogue between women affect their faith experience and their own self-understanding and identity? * What are the challenges to their spiritual life? The book looks at key critical issues such as the impact of the Holocaust on the women's faith and theology; the figure of the Messiah in both traditions - touching on the wider christological issues which separate the two faiths. The way text is read, is also examined. In particular the biblical figures of Mary Magdalene and Dinah, (from New Testament and Hebrew Bible respectively) are studied along with some little-studied women prophets. Finally the book looks to the future and asks what the key concerns and issues will be for them and the next generation of Jewish and Christian women. [Språk: Engelska] Häftad
